The smallest package you can get is for two people. I live by myself so I was hoping to have a cheaper price for one person but instead I just figured I would have leftovers to bring to work or a meal to heat-up for the next day--not a big deal. I chose the vegetarian option which was new so I was not allowed to pick specific meals, only if I wanted to skip an entire work or not. I did do the promotion that was 20$ off the first 3 boxes and free shipping. However, NO WHERE on the promotion did it say it was JUST free shipping for the first box. I even contacted a customer service individual beforehand who said it was for all three boxes. This was not the case and each month I had to jump through hoops to get this cost taken off and let them know their advertising was deceptive (I had screenshotted the ad--there was no small print).
While I did enjoy getting three meals a week in a box that had a freezer pack in it to maintain freshness, I did find that the directions were MUCH harder than they needed to be. It seemed to be for an amateur baker who wants to deceive people into thinking they are professional? Like spiral rolling zucchini? How about you just cut it into strips--way easier. I also gave a promotional coupon/referral discount to my mom who also independently stated the same thing (she chose a meat plan). She said she has been cooking a long time and found herself doing it her own way which saved a lot of time and worked just as well.
A few times I had tomatoes that were the wrong type, items were missing, or an item was rotten. They were good when I took pictures of this and complained about this. They mainly just gave me a discount on my next "fully priced" meal--which was upsetting because I wanted to cancel and not keep this plan. Eventually, sometimes they did give me a discount on the box with the defective or missing item--but it took a lot of be fussing and complaining to get it fixed.
The meals were either a hit or miss. I did not like how all of the meals that involved the oven required a temp of 400+ degrees. I live in an apartment and this CONSISTENTLY made my smoke alarms go off. I ended up having to modify the meals because EVERY TIME it said it had to be cooked at this high temperature.
When I went to cancel, you had to call in person (not online). They asked why and I told them I was not satisfied. They did not question this and just said that okay and cancelled the membership.
All in all, I would give this service 2/5 stars. Some of the meals were good but it took a long time and feel like the negatives far outweighed the positives of this. DO NOT TRUST THE SPONSORED POSTS. While my mom did not have as negative of an experience as I did, we both were left dissatisfied and disappointed. Would not recommend.
